Mission Trip Update

We praise God for a blessed mission trip to St. Lucia. Thirty-six students from OSU and PSU spent 2 weeks evangelizing and serving God on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. This was third and last year missioning to these wonderful people.

During the mission we undertook many activities, most importantly, visiting the homes.  As Christ taught, we went out by twos and threes to visit the six villages surrounding the parish who hosted us. In addition to house visits, we hosted a two-day retreat in the local prison ending with confessions and Mass with 60 prisoners, plus the guards who sung even louder than the prisoners. Also, we spend 2 days at the local school providing VBS for the children.

There were three nights of adult retreat with a closing Mass focusing on the prayerful, fraternal, and missionary community.  140 people at the first night and 300 at the final Mass!  Glory be to God!

As a fruit of the mission we were able to plant three houses of prayer that will meet weekly. We established a group of women called “Lydia’s” who will continue missioning to the community and revived a Men of Faith group.

Truly God is good and we give all praise and glory to Him.
